Oh this beetle was such a fun experiement. The poplar wood itself is extremely dark and once a finish was sprayed on it, it darkened a LOT. I knew it would do this before I started the beetle, which is why I only added white highlights. No added color, no sparkles, no glitter- just the highlights. I thought it was such a cool way to play with bold pyrography on super dark wood, and now the finished piece feels like the beetle is perfectly camoflauged into the dark wood grain. Without the white highlights, you wouldn't even know he was there.

- Do not place in direct sunlight, as this causes the woodburning to fade.
