This intricate piece is burned on a rainbow poplar canvas and is full of submarine ambiance. There is a depth here that draws the viewer in, and having been lured closer, the viewer can explore the delicate texturing and careful shading that brings the whole design to life. The spiraling patterns are reminiscent of rolling ocean waves, or perhaps the curling tentacles of a nautical creature, while stippled accents embody rising bubbles. Even the corner patterns remind one of the iron-bound chests which might be found, full of treasure, in the hold of a sunken ship. For some, the undersea mysteries are exciting and beautiful, while others find them unnerving. Either way, this piece is one that can’t be ignored.

  • This rainbow poplar square panel is ~9.5x9.5".
  • Sawtooth hanger installed on the back for quick hanging.
  • Sealed with acrylic lacquer.
  • Do not place in direct sunlight, as this causes the woodburning to fade.
